I begin this journey in Fairbanks AK where I’ll stay a few days to gather supplies, take in the sights and explore the city. I’ll then spend the next few days heading south down Parks highway towards Denali National Park. Once there I’ll spend approximately 7 days exploring the park by bike and foot setting up camp at 5 different locations. I’ll be filtering my own water, making my own meals and basically being completely self reliant for much of the time. The highlight will be reaching the end of the Denali National Park road at mile 92.5 where I’ll hike for photo op of Denali Mountain at the bank of the McKinley River. I’ll then conclude the tour by cycling back to the park’s entrance and spending several days heading south on Parks highway to Anchorage camping and cabin living along the way. I’ll most certainly finish up at a local Anchorage watering hole where I’ll enjoy a nice celebratory icy cold pint (or two)!
For those interested I’ve created a Google spreadsheet which details all my stops along the way. You can check it here: Detailed Itinerary
